So She Dances.... or wishes she was asked to Dance

Last night I went to an institute opening social dance and I came to this conclusion.
one: There needs to be more light.
two: music played that you can actually dance too.
three: Guys need to just ask girls to dance.

In the four hour period of the dance not one guy asked me to dance. :( I have a policy of not asking guys to dance. I had left for the dance feeling gorgeous, and left the dance feeling slightly blah.

Oh how I miss IDAHO's homeschool dances where a majority of the guys... 1. know how to dance, and 2. will ask you to dance.

If any of you who read this blog are guys take this to heart... most girls won't say no to dancing with you. And by asking them they feel beautiful and special, and you have made the night one to remember for them. There is a part in Jane Austin's Emma; where a girl by the name of Harriet says that she was rescued when she was asked to dance by a Mr. Knightly.
How many of you guys want to be a knight in shinning armor for any damsel in distress? You can do that by simply asking her to dance.

One slightly amusing story:
I had been there maybe 10 minutes and decided that my bright pink painful cute heels needed to be put to the side of the dance floor. One of my guy friends from George Wythe was hanging around us (my roommates and I) and so than asked me "Why do girls even wear heels? can you do any cool tricks in them?" I replied in a very frank manner... "The only real purpose of high heels is to make the girl feel more feminine and beautiful." Oh what we girls do to ourselves to look prettier. The quote from the first Pirates movie... "You want pain? Try wearing a corset." comes to mind. What is it with our fashion that always has something painful for us women to wear?

Before the dance our good friends Elinor and Kim came over and we (DeNay, Brittney, Katherine, and my self) all got ready for the dance together. Brittney did hair, we all voted on various dresses for so and so to wear, painted nails, shared jewelry, and of course chatted the way girls do. :) That was actually the most enjoyable part of the evening for me.
